ATTIC GEMMA-EDU. Barcelona (2011)

The main obstacle of this interior project was the complex geometry. The solution comes from the hand of seeking to resolve this geometry rethinking a new distribution of the rooms.

It was also a challenge, a client that came to us without any previous reference about our work. They found us online, in internet. We had to make him understand our way of working by dedicating much time to the project, to get a customized product. It was a new apartment that was barely seven years. The intervention had to make improvements to the lives of this couple and their two daughters. If there were no clear benefits for them, there was no point do the project.

We unified the living room and the kitchen facing them to the large terrace, creating a comfortable space. The kitchen furniture covers the walls and hides all the appliances. It was decided to eliminate the corridors and gave protagonism to the black doors in metal and glass.

The master bedroom includes bath and dressing room. An isolated sink, is part of the room as a sculptural object. The mirror and the black glass enhance its presence.

The predominant colours are white, black and gray, with little dots of colours. White colour in walls, ceilings and lacquered cabinets. Which contrasts with the intense black colour, in glass doors, tiling and furniture.

General lighting of the house is based on fluorescence solid lines of different colour temperatures. The profiles are made to measure. We reinforced the lighting in some points with visual comfort halogen lamps.

A very attractive apartment. Enjoyed by the owners in many different times of day. We know that they are happy with the final outcome. And also with the whole process of design and development of the work, since they have recommended us to their friends.
